Coping With Anxiety, Depression & Stress

These are the three major players in the world of mental health that can be triggered by the general happenings of life or major events. While stress to some degree can be helpful with keeping us on our toes, when having to deal with an unhealthy amount of stress daily, anxiety and depression can surely follow. Our moods will consequently be impacted and can affect how we think, how we engage with others, how we treat and see ourselves. For some, the changes in mood can seem persistent with no end in sight, but with the right supports, the effects can be managed.

  • Bipolar Disorder

    Extreme changes in ones normal behavior patterns for a specified time period with highs and lows that are often characterized as “mood swings.” The highs and lows often interfere with important areas of life such as relationships, school and career. Typical symptoms experienced are abnormally high levels of energy, risky behaviors, impaired judgement, decreased need for sleep, and depressive symptoms.

  • Major Depression

    These changes in mood can be persistent or a over short timespan, that can affect your thinking, how you feeling about yourself, your life, your interests and ability to engage and connect with others.

  • General Anxiety

    Consistent worry, fear or dread around everyday situations or issues that can be real or imagined. The anxiety experienced is excessive and can hinder the ability to concentrate, sleep or simply relax.

  • Social Anxiety

    Persistent and intense fear of interacting in social settings. This fear typically revolves around being judged, embarrassed or humiliated in front of others and can impact performance at school, work, in relationship building and self-esteem.

  • Substance Abuse

    Misusing mood and mind altering substances as of a form of coping with unwanted thoughts, feelings, or circumstances with little to no regard or awareness to its negative impact on ones life or their loved one.

  • Suicide and Self-Harm

    Troubling thoughts about life, its purpose, or unwanted feelings that influences harm to be done towards ones self to end the felt suffering.
